Design-build and branding project for local Fair Trade coffeehouse. We took an old preschool playroom and gutted it to create a warm place for people to gather. We embraced the fair trade concept by evoking a hand painted effect on a wall feature. This was a very simple design to appeal to children and families.
Main features: Dropdown ceiling, painted concrete flooring, metal menu board, hand- painted walls and solid surface counter tops. Color palette on walls and on the front of the counters are indicative of the color combinations that are warm and inviting, representing artisan-ship from different regions of the world. Not shown a series of fair trade posters educating the observer on the importance Fair Trade has in aiding the development of economic alternatives and cultural exchange around the world.
